Overview
Konami have announced that Yu-Gi-Oh! GENESYS will be coming to Japan as an available format for events to use. Here's a quick run down of what GENESYS format is, and how it's unique (or isn't) for the OCG!
- There is no Forbidden / Limited List, instead the format uses a Point System for Deck construction (You can see the points of cards using the GENESYS tab in our Card Search above).
- Link and Pendulum Monsters are not allowed to be played.
- The Duel Field removes the Pendulum and Extra Monster Zones entirely
- Deck Construction uses the existing TCG/GENESYS points via Yu-Gi-Oh! NEURON - and confirms that cards not yet released in the TCG cannot be used.
GENESYS Colosseum Events
Konami have also announced official local tournament events for the Konami Satellite Shops in Japan, currently running in March and April.
Winners' prizing in March consists of a Prismatic Secret Rare Loading... and Loading... in April.
